Top Car Gauteng Motor Show

As an avid lover of cars and all things speed and sound, it was only fitting for me to attend the very recent “Top Car Gauteng Motor Show” on the 2^nd and 3^rd of June 2012.

It is considered one of the largest shows to happen annually, and this year it was held at the popular Zwartkops Raceway, which is situated along the R55.

The show is a fun filled and exciting outing for men, women and children of all ages. With cars as the main feature of the two day show, there’s much more to be seen and experienced than just the cars on display. Aerobatic displays, modified cars drifting, advanced driving experiences, camel rides and motorbike races were but a taste of what the motor show had to offer. The show went on from 08H00 to 17H00 on both days, and amidst all the busyness, had a lovely entertainment and an eatery area with a selection of delicious choices for one to fuel up and keep going with the day’s stimulating activities.

Exhibitors from all over the country came to exhibit, and each exhibiting stand was ideally unique – Plain cars, muscle cars, cars on auction, car parts, paint jobs, car stickers, car cleaning materials etc. were all on display – so all in all, even if you’re just shopping for a car, and/or respective equipment you won’t go wrong when attending this or any other car show.
So what drives a “car person”? In my opinion, you either hate it or love it. I personally, love the idea of a fast car, and muscle cars are just absolutely beautifully made and aesthetically pleasing, despite the fact that they are also very rare.

Cars in general are a part of our daily lives, whether we are fans or not, it’s a common use of transport to get from point A to point B. This is more so for South Africans with our not so convenient public transportation.

There are a tremendous amount of car lovers and fanatics in Pretoria alone and when a show like the “Top Car Gauteng Motor Show” is on, they all come out , from everywhere for the day to enjoy the show.
