Join Angels Without Wings for a fun filled morning, an inspirational guest speaker and a delicious buffet breakfast. All profits of this day will go towards addressing the needs of terminally ill children and children with life altering conditions.

Directions From Pretoria
N4 east (towards Witbank) turn right across the highway at the Cullinan/Rayton/ Bapsfontein exit (toll gate), continue for about 3km, turn left at our green Diamantvallei sign onto a gravel road, follow the green Diamantvallei signs. Please note: there is another venue close by.

Lynnwood road east, turn left onto the Boschkop road, keep going until it ends in a T-junction, turn left and follow the road towards Rayton for about 3km, turn right at the second road from the T-junction (first junction after the Donkerhoek road) onto a gravel road (no signpost), follow the green Diamantvallei signs. Gauteng audiences are in for a treat when SAMA-winning instrumental pop group Sterling EQ brings their eclectic mix of instrumental showstoppers and exquisite melodies to Atterbury Theatre on 19 June 2012.

Known for changing the face of instrumental music in South Africa, the all-woman four-piece fuses diverse musical styles such as Classical, Kwaito, Pop, Rock and World, into their own distinctive and contemporary sound which is complemented by their energetic, visually arresting live performance. Their award-winning live show contains a collection of Pop-classic showpieces including Toccata Rock, Jazz-inspired instrumentals like Chic Corea’s Spain, South African hits like Mbube, Nkalakatha, and even Mannetjie Roux, as well as originals including their hit song (and debut album title track) Nova, which was also made into a Hollywood-style music video which enjoys local and international airplay. Other highlights include a tribute to pop violinist Vanessa Mae, a “sterling” version of the Mission Impossible theme, and a breathtaking instrumental version of the Italian love song, Caruso.

Music is an art form that uses a rhythm to unfold. Its main components are groovy, touchy, vibe and harmonious sounds. Music unites people: it gives people knowledge about the world, politics and socio-economic state of the world.

South Africa is the country that hosts numerous musicians, with extensively different genres. Kwaito is one of the music genres that were born in this South Africa. It was just after kwaito made its mark in the country, that we saw the birth of House music, which is outwardly dominating the South African music industry and especially the night clubs.
According to This Is Africa website, House music took root in Pretoria, South Africa in the early 1990s, and from there widely spread to Johannesburg. This is very interesting to know, as we all know Joburg to be the home of most musicians in the country.

Pretoria and neighbouring cities and towns’ residents will for the very first time welcome the Tshwane Winter Music Festival which is advertised as the annual event. The festival is presented by Vick’s Cafe and Promotions. It is planned to be staged in Mabopane Sports Stadium, known as Giant Stadium on the 2nd of June 2012. The Tshwane’s first annual winter music festival is set to bring major players in the dancing music industry around the world.

Mzansi is known for its great DJs who put the South African’s house music on the map. The likes of DJ S’bu, DJ Oskido, DJ Zinhle and many other DJs who are known and respected nationally and some even internationally. The list of DJs that are expected to perform includes DJ Christos who is undisputedly familiar with Tshwane audience. Christos is appreciated widely in Pretoria, especially in Pretoria North. He has on numerous occasions held gigs in hot nightlife spots of Mabopane, Ga-rankuwa, Soshanguve and other clubs in the area.

Aren’t we lucky to have an international DJ, who has shown his affection for Mzansi by frequenting the country, be part of this event? Ralf Gum will be keeping Pretorians heating the stage up this coming Saturday.
With the winter theme automatically thrown in the name of the festival, music enthusiasts will obviously be expected to dress warm, comfortable and to state the obvious, stylish. Time to show off Pretoria fashion to the rest of them. Although it could be cold, Tshwane residents will light the city up in flames.
