Hillview High School

Hillview High School is one of the high schools in Pretoria North. It is also one of the English public high schools in Roseville, and surrounding areas like Mountain View, Daspoort, Mayvile, Eloffsdal, Les Marais, Capital Park, etc. See the map below for more about the area and directions. Please check our full directory for public and private schools in Pretoria below. Hillview High was established in the year 1955, on the same site where former Prinshof Primary School stands. The school was then transferred to Franzina Street in Roseville in the year 1979. Miss L.L. Roe, a staff member was the one who suggested the name for the school and it was finally adopted in February 1, 1955 at a parents' meeting. Mr. M.H. Blem was the acting principal, until the regular appointment of Mr. T.W. Chapman in August 1955. In 1966, Mr. G. Frielick took over. In September 1974 up to December 1975, Mr. W.P. van Schalkwyk acted as principal. Mr. J.F. McDougall took over until he retired in December 1985. Under the supervision of Mr. McDougall, the school transferred to current position on Apies River banks in Roseville. Miss N. Myburgh was appointed as principal on July 1, 1993 and retired in March 2004. Mr. Hepburn was appointed as permanent principa in January 2005.

Hillview High School is wonderfully equipped. Culture Centers, Science and Biology Laboratories, Technology and Arts and Hopitality Studies are with great designs. There are 2 wonderful Computer Centers in the school with the greatest technology, three classes fully equipped with excellent Interactive White Boards, and a Gauteng Online Lab. The school also has a huge gymnasium and a great hall. They are using all netball fields, basketball courts, crickent nets, and all weather tennis courts. Hockey fields, soccer fields and their eight Athletics track are fully grassed.
